VENUES Team Building activity for a kick-off meeting at Santiago
Bernabeu Stadium. Representatives of UEFA, the Spanish FA, and Real Madrid
kick-off meeting to prepare the dossier for the 2010 Champions League final which
will be hosted by the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. We believe that the kick-off
meeting is probably the most important project meeting held during the life of
the project. It is the first time that the entire project team is gathered so
a team-building activity or exercise always creates positive interaction amongst
people. |

TRAVEL Incentive travel
for members of different departments of Lilly from the USA, Poland, Germany and
other European countries. A three-day convention was hosted in Aranjuez, a beautiful
town which has been registered in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List since
2001. We were wholly responsible for the organisation and planning: Integral
transport management including transfers from and to the airport. Accommodation
at Palacio del Nuncio Hotel, a Palace of the 18th Century, restructured
into an state-of-the-art business meeting point. Attendees could hold their meetings
and conferences as all the required conference equipment was present, including
an LCD projector, Flip Charts, screens etc…
We also booked and organised their meals at very well-known local restaurants
where they could enjoy exquisite gastronomy. For their free time, in between
meetings and to help them relax as well as to encourage group dynamics, we organised
two different half-day activities: An adventure raid which included dragon boat
racing on the Tagus river, archery and a variety of team building games.
A CSI activity in which they had to
investigate a murder. They had to take fingerprints and analyse them, make a photo-fit
of the suspect and try to get some information and clues from the characters involved
in the whole story (lab technician, police officer, CSI agent and the prisoner).
They were divided into groups and at the end, each group had to write down their
reports of who they deemed to be the murderer, the motive and their explanation
of the whole plot.

ACTIVITY This time, we organised
a cultural immersion activity for Schindler in Madrid. It was a very special walking
tour of Madrid. At the beginning, they were given a quiz form with questions about
monuments and street names so they had to pay attention to everything during the
walk to find out the answers. During the walking tour they met a chulapo
–traditional working-class man from Madrid, said to be quite cocky –wearing
his traditional 19th-century garb; a Real Madrid football fan; the Spanish soldier-turned-mercenary
Captain Alatriste; and the Spanish painter Velazquez himself! Each
time the participants met one of these characters , they had to pass a kind of
test, for example, with the chulapo they had to learn and sing one of
the most popular songs for chotis –considered the most typical dance
of the city since the 19th century. They had to paint one of the Master Velazquez’s
paintings, show they could pass the ball and many other amusing team building
activities. This walking tour could not end without a visit to a bar for a beer
and some typical Spanish tapas. Certainly a day to remember! |

CONVENTION The attendees
of this three-day convention came from different European countries i.e. mainly
Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden. Our client asked us to find
a venue where they could create a positive and productive work atmosphere. The
venue had to be in a peaceful environment, a place surrounded by nature. The hotel
finally chosen was the Arcipreste de Hita mountain hotel in Navacerrada.
It is located in an exceptional environment, surrounded by pine forests and beautiful
mountain landscapes. We organised
all the rooms for their meetings as well as the audiovisual equipment required.
In between meetings we organised a CSI activity in combination with some survival
games linked to nature whereby participants had to put their skills to the test.
